I would like to be referred for general surgery to the hospital with the shortest wait.

Under the NHS Constitution, when my GP refers me for a first outpatient appointment I have the right to choose which provider I go to in England, including independent hospitals that hold an NHS contract. I would like to use that right.

The three shortest waits within 25 miles of Adur

1. Spire Gatwick Park Hospital (independent hospital, free on the NHS)
   Most people treated in August 2026 waited 16 to 36 weeks. 23.1 miles from Adur. ODS code NT308.
2. Spire Montefiore Hospital (independent hospital, free on the NHS)
   Most people treated in August 2026 waited 23 to 41 weeks. 4.5 miles from Adur. ODS code NT364.
3. University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust
   Most people treated in August 2026 waited 46 to 64 weeks. 4.8 miles from Adur. ODS code RYR.
