I would like to be referred for respiratory medicine to the hospital with the shortest wait.

Under the NHS Constitution, when my GP refers me for a first outpatient appointment I have the right to choose which provider I go to in England, including independent hospitals that hold an NHS contract. I would like to use that right.

The three shortest waits within 25 miles of Redcar and Cleveland

1. North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust
   Most people treated in August 2026 waited 3 to 28 weeks. 10.9 miles from Redcar and Cleveland. ODS code RVW.
2. South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
   Most people treated in August 2026 waited 6 to 17 weeks. 7.1 miles from Redcar and Cleveland. ODS code RTR.
3. County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust
   Most people treated in August 2026 waited 12 to 30 weeks. 21 miles from Redcar and Cleveland. ODS code RXP.
