Many independent hospitals also treat NHS patients free under your right to choose. See that wait before you pay. Then pick your area and what you need.

Check the free NHS option first

Three things to know

  1. Ask your employer. Many jobs include private medical insurance or a cash plan that covers consultations and scans. Check before you pay yourself.
  2. A private GP or consultant appointment is usually quick and fixed-price. Scans and tests are often where the wait is shortest privately.
  3. Get a written fixed-price quote that says what happens if you need more care than planned. We show prices only where a hospital has agreed to publish them or a patient has sent us a quote, with the date.
